What we mean by specialist installation
The wallpapers below cost more to buy than most paint jobs cost to deliver. They are commissioned, painted, embroidered or printed to specification and frequently irreplaceable. Installation is correspondingly demanding: walls prepared to a written specification, environmental conditions controlled during install, panels sequenced and pattern-matched, adhesive grade matched to the ground. There is no margin for improvisation.
We work the way these projects need us to. Written prep specifications, fixed-price install quotes, scheduling coordinated with the wider project, dust-controlled and NDA-friendly working in occupied properties.

Hand-painted Chinese chinoiserie papers and silks. Commissioned per project — each panel painted by hand to the room's dimensions.
Install notes: Specialist installation only. Panels arrive numbered for sequence; matched to room dimensions at commission stage. Walls must be lined to the highest standard. Lead time from commission to install: 12–18 weeks. We work directly with the client's interior designer through the process.
Fromental
Hand-painted and embroidered wallpapers on silk and paper grounds. London-based, internationally collected. Each commission unique.
Install notes: Specialist installation. Silk-ground papers require additional environmental care during install — humidity, dust, handling. Panels sequenced and matched at commission stage.
Phillip Jeffries
American specialist in natural materials — grasscloth, sisal, jute, paper-weaves. The reference brand for textured natural wallcoverings.
Install notes: Grasscloth shows seams unavoidably — pattern is in nature of the material. Best installation reduces visibility through reverse-roll sequencing and adhesive control. Lining paper essential. Hands-on craft job.
Iksel
Istanbul-based atelier producing digitally printed murals from antique source artwork — chinoiserie, Italianate, Ottoman, classical landscape.
Install notes: Mural-format panels matched to room dimensions at commission stage. Specialist drop-matching at install. Wall prep must be flawless.
Pierre Frey
French atelier — printed papers, jacquards, and bespoke commissions. Distinctive Mediterranean and French country palette.
Install notes: Traditional paste-the-paper. Pattern matching critical. Heavyweight grounds — installation by experienced hands only.

What we deliver on a specialist installation
For interior designers
Most of our specialist work runs through designers. We're happy to walk a site at concept stage and give you a specialist installer's view on what the room can take, what prep it'll need, and what timeline to plan into the project schedule. No charge for the walkthrough — it benefits us both to get the install right.
We also provide written prep specifications that you can share with your client's project manager or contractor ahead of any wall work, so there's no ambiguity about what condition the walls need to be in when our paper-install date arrives.
Costs
Specialist installations are commission-priced and project-specific. Hand-painted, silk-ground, and embroidered papers start in the high hundreds of pounds per panel and rise significantly from there. Installation is quoted separately following the consultation visit, based on paper, room, prep, panel count and access — written fixed price, no hourly or open-ended charges.

Do you work with interior designers?
Most of our specialist work comes through interior designers. We're set up for designer-led projects — sample reviews, written prep specifications shared ahead of any wall work, scheduling aligned with the wider project, dust-controlled working in occupied properties, NDA-friendly conduct.

The Cheshire / South Manchester corridor — Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Knutsford, Alderley Edge, Prestbury, Hale, Bowdon, Altrincham, Sale, Didsbury and Chorlton. We'll travel further for the right project.
How is the installation quoted?
By consultation. Specialist installs are too project-specific for a calculator — paper type, ground, panel count, wall condition, prep scope and access all change the quote. We visit, walk the room with you and (where applicable) your designer, produce a written prep specification, and then a fixed-price install quote in writing.
What's the prep specification process?
After the consultation we produce a written prep specification document — skim coats where needed, lining paper grade, primer, sealant, environmental requirements (temperature, humidity) during install. This is shared with you and your designer ahead of any wall work, so there is no ambiguity later.
How long does a specialist install take?
Typical dining room or principal bedroom installations run 3–5 working days for the install itself, plus 2–4 days of wall preparation in advance. Larger schemes or rooms with extensive architectural detail run longer. We confirm timeline at consultation.
