Doors, Skirting, Spindles, Sills & Radiators — Painted Properly
A prime-London trim specialist who turns up by Underground with a compact kit — so there's no van on your street, no ULEZ or congestion charge, and no parking to sort. Just doors, skirting, spindles, sills and radiators, hand-finished and brush-mark-free.
What I paint
Door painting
Panel and flush doors sanded, filled, caulked and hand-finished in two coats of satinwood or gloss — a hard, even sheen with no brush-marks. Period doors treated with the care their mouldings deserve.
Skirting boards
Skirting caulked to the wall, filled, sanded and painted in a crisp, wipeable finish. The detail that makes a freshly painted room actually look finished.
Spindles & banisters
Staircase spindles, handrails, newel posts and strings — fiddly, patient brushwork done properly. Two-tone (white spindles, stained or dark handrail) a speciality.
Window sills & frames
Internal sills and sash/casement frames sanded back, knots sealed and repainted. Condensation-worn sills brought back to a clean, smooth finish.
Radiator painting
Radiators degreased, keyed and hand-painted in heat-resistant enamel — refresh a tired white rad or colour-match it to the wall so it disappears. Brush-applied, no spray rig, no overspray in your home.
Minimum visit from £250 — I bundle several items into a half or full day so a single door is never a wasted trip.

Doors, skirting & radiators — FAQs
What does the 'no van, by tube' service actually mean?
I've built this service to be light and low-impact for central London. Instead of a van, I travel by Underground with a compact, cabin-luggage tool kit — brushes, sanding blocks, filler, caulk, dust sheets and masking. That means no van blocking your street, no parking permit or bay suspension to arrange, and no congestion charge or ULEZ fee on your quote. Paint and any bulkier bits are delivered to the job or picked up locally.
How much does door, skirting and radiator painting cost?
Doors from £80 each (both sides plus frame, two coats), skirting from £7 per linear metre, radiators from £65 hand-painted in heat-resistant enamel, internal sills from £30, and a full staircase of spindles and handrail from £280. Minimum visit from £250 — I bundle several items into a half or full day. Ultra-prime postcodes run a little higher; final price is confirmed after a quick look or a few photos.
Do you spray radiators or paint them by hand?
By hand. There's no spray rig and no overspray in your home — radiators are degreased, lightly keyed and brush-painted in a heat-resistant enamel for a smooth, durable finish. You can refresh a tired white radiator or colour-match it to the wall so it quietly disappears.
Can you handle period doors, spindles and sash frames?
Yes — it's the heart of the job. Original panelled doors, staircase spindles and sash frames are sanded back, knots sealed, filled and caulked, then hand-finished in satinwood or gloss. Heritage systems such as Little Greene, Farrow & Ball or Mylands on request, with breathable options for listed and conservation-area homes.
Which prime London areas do you cover?
North and Central London's prime districts — Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill, Mayfair, Belgravia, Hampstead, Highgate, Primrose Hill, Marylebone, Fitzrovia, Islington, Pimlico, Bloomsbury, Clerkenwell, Highbury, Stoke Newington, Kentish Town and Camden Town. If you're a short walk from a tube station in these areas, I can get to you.
How disruptive is it and how long does it take?
Very low disruption — one person, dust sheets down, tidy as I go. Most trim jobs are wrapped in a half or full day, which makes this ideal for occupied homes and quick landlord turnarounds between tenancies.
